I've been involved with fandom for several years. Admittedly, I think I've turned into a lurker. I'm trying hard to rectify that now. This journal contains musings about my lovely shows with the occasional personal dribble. I've been known to disappear for months on end only to return with a new obsession to squee about loudly. I am obsessed with science fiction television. In my opinion, as long as a sci fi show has humor, character development, drama, action/adventure, and wormholes, I'm hooked. Note that all the really good sci fi have wormholes!
FANDOMS
STARGATE SG1
This is my current obsession. The continuous story lines, action, drama, humor, and gorgeous cast makes such a great combination. I don't really have a specific ship. I like a little Cam/Daniel or Jack/Daniel but I've haven't really found "the one" for me. Cam/John Sheppard is the Cam ship I find really interesting. Gotta love those flyboys! I don't like Jack/Sam only because I felt the show strung me along far too long and killed it. I think I could have been on board if something would have actually happened. I love Cameron Mitchell to no end! He's so strong and loyal. I think Teal'c is the funniest character. Example: "Undomesticated equines could not remove me."
STARGATE ATLANTIS
If you watch Atlantis, the obvious ship is McShep. Their undying love and devotion is right there on screen! I don't mind a little John/Teyla and I might actually like it on the show if it happens. I can just picture Rodney being crazy jealous! I don't like Elizabeth Weir much at all so naturally, I don't like to read her with anyone (except maybe Zelenka?). If I had to see a ship on screen, I would like to see John/Teyla, Teyla/Ronon or Ronon/Keller. I do not like Keller/McKay at all. Rodney belongs with John and there's no changing my mind on this one.
EUREKA
I've just recently found this wonderful little show and I'm loving every bit of it. It's funny and smart and OH SO FUN! For ships I enjoy the on screen Jack/Alison tension/what-was-but-isn't-anymore-stuff but my real OTP for this show is Nathan/Jack. Their banter is obviously sexual tension! I'm a Nathan girl. I love his mysteriousness and the emotions he's holding back. I really want to see Jack take care of him! And Ed Quinn's beard and hair are total love! If he ever shaves, I swear I'll quit watching!
SMALLVILLE
I used to be an avid Smallville fangirl but those times have faded a bit. I love the characters and concept but TPTB have ruined what should be an amazing show. I'm holding out hope that season 8 will redeem! Clex, which is so obviously canon, is my first OTP. I have also been known to enjoy Chlark, Clois, and Clark/Bruce Wayne. As long as it's written well, I like it. That being said, I do not like Clana, at all. I used to enjoy them on the show way back in season two when they were cute but halfway through season three they became annoying and have been ever since, IMHO. I will not hate on Clana shippers but I just cannot understand the appeal. Down to my core, I'm a Clark fan (hence the name). He's the ultimate woobie and there's not much I like more than watching that poor pathetic face crumble in torment. I'm weird, I know.
FARSCAPE
I once read an interview in which Ben Browder said Farscape was sci fi on crack. Then call me a crack whore because I LOVE IT! John/Aeryn are epic and beautiful. Their love knows no bounds and I get sucked in big time. John Crichton is just a big beautiful woobie and oh how I love my woobies! It has such a fantastic mix of humor, drama, angst, and action. It's mesmerizing!
